Setting up an India GCC from the United States

What a finance team in the United States should plan for when opening a Hyderabad entity, and how we handle it.

Two year-ends

Indian companies must use a financial year ending 31 March. Most US parents report on a calendar year, so we prepare Companies Act accounts to March and monthly US GAAP packs to your calendar.

US GAAP adjustments

We prepare parent-GAAP adjustments, such as lease, revenue and depreciation differences, alongside the Indian books.

Parent's US reporting

US owners of foreign corporations have their own US filing obligations, such as Form 5471. We supply the India figures your US tax advisers need.

Payments to the US parent

Withholding tax and Form 15CA/15CB apply to many payments abroad; we review treaty eligibility with a tax residency certificate.

The same core in every country

Whatever the parent's location, the India entity needs the same monthly core: books, TDS, GST, EDF, payroll, Registrar and FEMA filings. See all services and the compliance calendar.

General information, not tax advice. Treaty benefits depend on the facts and documents such as a tax residency certificate.
